MARKS Medical College

It was first established as MARKS ENT clinic in year 1995 by the founder Chairman of MARKS Group Late Brig. Gen. M Masudur Rahman Khan an eminent ENT- Head & Neck Surgeon of the country. A visionary who realized the importance of heath care in the Country and dedicated himself to the service of humanity. He decided to establish a Dental College in year 2007 and later on established MARKS Medical College in year 2011. MARKS Dental College became a sister Concern of MARKS Medical College and hospital in year 2015 since then this institute is providing quality Medical and Dental education and. MARKS MEDICAL COLLEGE AND DENTAL UNIT INTRODUCTION: MARKS Medical College established in year 2011. Started its journey with enrollment of 50 medical students. At present the number has increased to 70 students and this was possible only because of very good qualitative academic performance. Ministry of Health Bangladesh satisfied by its performance allocated 20 more seats to this college in the year. Now the total students enrolled is 70 of which 40% is allocated to foreign students. In MARKS Dental Unit total number of students enrolled each year is 50 of which 40% is allocated to foreign students. Undergraduate degree in Medical and Dental Unit is awarded under university of Dhaka.

 

AFFILIATION

MARKS Medical College is approved by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Govt. of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) and affiliated to University of Dhaka.

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE:

To create graduate scholar in medical discipline who can meet the demand of Modern Health care services in any situation, with high level of competency and commitment and can perform in country as well as in any standard institute of the word.

OBJECTIVES

1. To provide good academic environment and ensure that students acquires sound theoretical knowledge and good practical skills. Develop good human quality with empathetic attitude towards people. 2. Capable of carrying out research activities in medical science, help in advancement of medical education and health services in country and abroad.

COURSE OFFERED

MBBS

The MBBS course has duration of five (5) years and follows the National Curriculum (Prepared by BMDC). The academic programming has been designed to cover all aspects of medical sciences.

1 st phase 1½ year Anatomy Physiology Biochemistry

First Professional MBBS

2 nd phase 1 year Community Medicine Forensic Medicine

Second Professional MBBS

3 rd phase 1 year Pharmacology & Therapeutics Pathology Microbiology

Third Professional MBBS

4 th phase 1½ year Medicine & Allied subjects Surgery & Allied subjects Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Final Professional MBBS

NB: All academic activities including professional examination of each phase must be completed within the specified time of the phase.

Library

The library is located in the College Building and has a collection of a sufficient number of text and reference books, monographs and journals in various subjects and providers update information to students and teachers. It has a user-friendly open stack easy access system. The Library has reading room, which can accommodate about 100 students at a time and also a separate teacher’s reading room. Library remains open from 8 am to 5 pm. The librarian is well-experienced with degree in library science who is assisted by assistant librarians.

The library subscribes 2 indexed journals. We are in the process of developing a modem library with sufficient computers for teachers and students. They will have online access to the Internet.

Students of MRMC get ample opportunities to participate in varieties of cultural and other activities.

The college Co-curricular activities are paced in such a way as to allow students to develop their cultural talents, publish wall magazine, music, dance, Debating competitions, Sports and game, Yearly Picnic, Social Activities, Study Tour etc.

The excellent facilities at the playing field, auditorium and gallery offer opportunities for such activities.

The authority of MARKS Medical College (MRMC) is not bound for the students’ accommodation and transport, however, available seats in the hostel will be allocated on the first come first serve basis. The priorities are based on students from Abroad, outside the city, academic merit, regularity in study, good conduct etc. The application needs to be made after admission.

Rules and regulations are maintained strictly and defaulting may result in serious disciplinary action by the college authority, including cancellation of the seat or other penalties.

The allotted students must keep allotment letter with them in the hostel, otherwise, law enforcement agency can be active. All the Hostels have electricity, water supply, security & sweeping system is satisfactory. All the Hostels have dining facilities & canteens.

You have to pay total U$D 37,000 (U$D Thirty-Seven Thousand only) for Development fee, Tuition fees U$D 1000.00 (U$D One Thousand only) for registration fees which should be paid before registration process from Dhaka University.

Hostel/accommodation free of cost. For food you will pay U$D 70.00 (U$D Seventy only) per month.

Your seat booking fees U$D 15,000.00 (U$D Fifteen thousand only) to be submit on 10/12/21.

Other’s Condition:

  1. Student who fails to come out successful during a regular period of 5 years will become irregular. They have to pay U$D 1500 (One thousand five hundred only U$D) as session fees & hostel charge per year in addition to usual monthly tuition fees (U$D 100 per month).
  2. If any students fail to pay the yearly fees on due-time he/she will have to pay an amount U$D 50.00 (fifty U$D) as fine every month in addition to the yearly fees.
  3. Indian medical aspirant must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) with minimum score: UG = 147 (Fifty Percentile) OBC/SC/ST = 113 (Forty Percentile).
