Ashiyan Medical College
The Ashiyan Medical College (AMC), the dream inaugurate of Ashiyan Group established in 2012, guided by and united efforts of the Board of Trustees of this institute. Ashiyan Medical College & Hospital was established in January 2012 fulfilling all the guidelines and criteria set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Government was pleased to give permission for admission of 50 students in the first-year MBBS course from the session 2012-2013. The college has also been affiliated with the University of Dhaka. This Medical College was established with the promise to generate very high caliber doctors who are humane and competent in developing themselves as good family physicians to meet the increasing demands of the new millennium.
The Ashiyan Medical College offers a five-year undergraduate program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The curriculum in AMC MBBS programs obeys the rules to the requirements of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), which is the registering body in Bangladesh. Being a non-profit organization, AMC is being governed by a Governing Body, consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dhaka University, and Trustee Board along with other members. All up to date teaching methods are being applied.
Students will experience the collegial environment with the glare of feelings of belonging, sharing, and caring. Supporting staff are well equipped and motivated to deliver the best services. The college management will constantly keep in touch with the guardian.
AMC has its own campus located at Barua, Khilkhet-1229, built on 4 storied unitary building with all its modern facilities and another 9 storied building is under construction. It has a very rich library equipped with all the contemporary facilities and resources. An organized students’ welfare association supervises the wellbeing of students and conducts them in every aspect.
- Dormitory both for male and female students is set up and experienced supervisors is engaged to solve the day to day problems and priorities of the hostel students and to take care of them.

Requirements
The college offers five years MBBS course and one year internship training in Ashiyan Medical College & Hospital as required by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council leading to MBBS degree of the University of Dhaka. The academic session shall be from January each year or as suggested by the Government.
Criteria for Admission of Foreign Students in The Non-government Medical Colleges in Bangladesh for 2020-2021 Academic Year Under Self- Finance Scheme.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
- Local and Foreign students should have minimum GPA 9.00 together in S.S.C/O level/Equivalent & HSC/A level/Equivalent (Separately minimum GPA 3.50 in each).
- All students should have minimum GPA 3.50 in subject Biology of H.S.C/Equivalent Exam.
- Students with "O" & "A" level must provide attested photocopy of the Equivalence Certificate issued from the Office of the Director General of Health Services, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh as a necessary document of their eligibility.
HOW & WHEN TO APPLY
- Local students should apply according to the instruction of Director General of Health Services (DGHS) after the result of medical admission test.
- Foreign students should apply in the month of September – December.
- Those interested to apply for admission should at first get their S.S.C/O level, H.S.C/A level or equivalent certificates & mark sheets attested by the Ministry of Education as well as Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their own country.
- After that they should apply through the Embassy of Bangladesh in their country providing above mentioned attested documents.
- The Office of Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Dhaka, Bangladesh will then issue Equivalence Certificate which can be collected either through the Bangladesh Mission in their country or directly from the Office of DGHS.
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
- For admission into 1st year MBBS course all students need to apply in prescribed form along with the following documents:
- Attested photocopy of SSC & HSC/ Equivalent Exam Certificate/ Testimonial.
- Attested photocopy of SSC & HSC/ Equivalent Exam Mark Sheets/ Academic Transcript.
- Attested photocopy of Equivalence Certificate issued by DGHS, Dhaka, Bangladesh (for students with "O" & "A" level).
- Three copies of recent passport size Color Photographs.
- Photocopy of Passport/ National ID Card.
- At the time of admission all original documents will be retained by the college until completion of the course.
- 1st year MBBS class usually starts from first week of January or as decided by the Government each year.
SCOPE FOR MCI, NMC
- After obtaining MBBS Degree from Bangladesh, students from India are required to appear in FMGE test, conducted by Medical Council of India.
MBBS degree obtained from EMC is recognized by NMC & other SAARC countries.
Library
The fully air-conditioned college library is situated on the 1st floor of the administrative building. The library is a spacious hall, well furnished with a comfortable seating arrangement and a silent atmosphere. It provides a seating arrangement of 300 students at a time & remains open from 8 AM to 8 PM on all working days. There is a separate reading room for faculty members with internet facilities. It is run by the chief librarian with two assistant librarians & other staff under the guidance of the Library Committee. The library is fairly enriched with a collection of common text books, reference books, important national and international journals. Recently about 5000 current medical textbooks on different disciplines are collected.
HOSTEL FACILITIES
Separate Boy's and Girl's hostels are situated on the east flank of the campus adjacent to the college playground and enriched with a dining hall, reading room, and common room with indoor game facilities. An experienced supervisor is engaged to solve their day to day problems and priorities.
